KOBELCO SK350 Crawler Excavator Detailed Introduction

The KOBELCO SK350 is a 35-ton class heavy-duty crawler excavator developed and produced by Kobelco Construction Machinery, a world-leading excavator manufacturer under Japan’s Kobe Steel Group. As a core product in Kobelco’s medium-to-large excavator lineup, it is widely recognized for its high operation efficiency, ultra-low fuel consumption, durable structural design and strong adaptability to harsh working conditions, making it a preferred choice for heavy construction, mining, quarrying and large-scale infrastructure projects globally.

2. Key Performance Features

2.1 High Efficiency & Energy Saving

Equipped with Kobelco’s proprietary iNDr+ (Intelligent Noise and Dust Reduction plus) power-hydrostatic matching technology, it delivers 8% higher cycle operation efficiency than competing products in the same tonnage class, while the ECO mode reduces fuel consumption by 5-12% without compromising working power.
Independent travel hydraulic circuit ensures no power interference between travel and compound working actions (e.g. digging + slewing + lifting), guaranteeing smooth and responsive operation. The 10 rpm slewing speed greatly shortens loading cycle time for truck loading scenarios.
No forced parked DPF regeneration function (for Tier 4/Stage V versions) avoids construction delays caused by aftertreatment system maintenance.

2.2 Heavy-Duty Durable Structure

X-type undercarriage frame made of high-strength wear-resistant steel, with reinforced track rollers and optional high manganese steel thickened track shoes, adapted to long-term heavy load impact in mines and quarries.
Box-type boom and arm with internal reinforcing ribs effectively resist deformation and cracking under high torque, extending the structural service life by 15% compared to ordinary designs.

3. Operator Comfort & Safety

The cabin is ROPS (Roll-Over Protective Structure) and FOPS (Falling Object Protective Structure) certified, meeting global construction safety standards:

Panoramic tempered glass design provides 360° barrier-free vision, with optional rearview camera or 360° surround view system to eliminate blind spots.
Air-suspended heated seat with multi-directional adjustment and excellent shock absorption reduces fatigue during long-hour operation.
Ergonomic low-effort control joysticks, 7-inch full-color LCD monitor that displays real-time equipment status, fault warning and fuel consumption data, and high-efficiency sealed air conditioning system ensure a comfortable working environment.
Standard hydraulic lock function, travel alarm, emergency escape hammer and seat belt alarm further guarantee operation safety.

4. Application Scenarios

The SK350 supports a wide range of attachments (hydraulic breaker, grapple, shear, ripper, pile driver etc.) to adapt to diversified working conditions:

Large infrastructure projects: highway/railway subgrade excavation, bridge foundation construction, water conservancy project earthwork
Mining and quarrying: overburden stripping, ore loading, crushing operation
Urban renewal: demolition work, waste removal
Port and logistics: bulk cargo handling, site leveling
Special scenarios: river dredging (long-reach version), forestry land clearing

5. Maintenance & Operation Cost Advantage

All daily maintenance points are designed to be accessible from the ground, no need to climb on the machine for oil/filter replacement, reducing maintenance difficulty and time cost.
Long service intervals: engine oil replacement every 500 working hours, hydraulic oil replacement every 5000 working hours, greatly reducing after-sales cost.
Equipped with Kobelco KOMEXS remote monitoring system, supporting real-time equipment positioning, working hour statistics, fault early warning and fleet management function for construction enterprises.
High residual value: its stable performance and long service life make it have a 10% higher second-hand market value than similar competing products.
